Addendum. Before blaming the mouse for erratic cursor behaviour, it would behoove one to discover that a load of books (on EU enlargement) piled on top of the remote control cursor pad will, well, lead to erratic cursor behaviour.
I had a GuestWare tech PCAnywhere'd into our property-management system at the same time an engineer on the property was trying to read a file while sitting at the console. The GW tech was kind of annoyed. I had this image of them both grunting and straining against their savagely-resisting mice as they grappled for control of the cursor.
Heh. I've done that -- had someone from tech support take over my pc remotely before I got the chance to close stuff like chat sessions. He kept trying to take the cursor down to see what the minimized items were, and I kept pushing it back up to the stuff he was supposed to be looking at.
