Car Repair

Having been told about 10,000 miles ago that my brakes would only last me another 3000, I figured I'd have them checked before venturing into the mountains this weekend. Before even taking the car into the bay, the mechanic hollered me over and told me that the brake wear was even between all four wheels, and that there was still about half the pad left. He still took it in and put it on the lift to make sure all the fluids were fine and there was nothing else visibly wrong. That all being said and done, the shop refused to charge me anything, since "they didn't really do any work." Took me half an hour, having been the fourth person in line.
Today's recommendation of a local business goes, again, to Running Great Automotive on Nebraska.
Today's pre-halloween horror goes to Dana, Dave and Rob, who have to deal with a crazy Finn who was told his car is safe to drive and brakes well. Muahahaa! (Not that I expect anyone but Dave to dare ride with me after last year...)
