Actually this randomly does relate to the German homework I'm trying to currently do.

  • Genet (genetta genetta): Ginsterkatze
  • Ringtail/cacomistle (bassariscus astutus): Nordamerikanisches Katzenfrett
  • Ring-tailed lemur (lemur catta): Katta
  • Raccoon (procyon lotor): Waschbär

Ironically, I have no clue what most of these are in Finnish! The exception being the raccoon, which is pesukarhu (washing bear). Also, no cocoamistle (sorry, Kim!) I just really liked Katzenfrett, and had to share :-)

Well, due to the stereotypical behaviour of raccoons. The German incidentally means the same, as does the Swedish tvättbjörnen. On which note, my Swedish teacher always used to say since I know German, Swedish should be a piece of cake... You can see the similarities, no? :-)

Oh, of course. Readily apparent.
