Ivanesque stuff...

Okay, got out of my funk of last night and most of the week. Even before I posted I was wondering if I really should put that kind of stuff up at all, but I figured I might as well see where it leads. At worst people tell me I'm childish and whiney.
I filled up with gas this morning. Not the grade my car prefers, but hey. Said gas station also had one and two gallon gas cans, but being so tiny and rather expensive, I figured I'd skip them and look elsewhere.
At work the main thread was finding plywood and fasteners. Plywood wasn't so much of a problem, apparently, but latches or plywood clips were in short supply, with people planning to ambush trucks as soon as they arrive at a store. Apparently the supplier company phone lines were swamped, and pretty much everyone at work now has an exhaustive list of all hardware stores in the area. One managed to get fasteners from a store halfway across the state, thanks to relatives.
After work, I figured I'd give gas cans a try, if for no other reason than to entertain the sales staff. As I was driving, the news said that fuel supplies are much better than they were before Frances. Could've fooled me, seeing that most stations were flat out, and those that had gas had lines snaking around the block.
Oh. Gas cans. Yes, available. If I show up at the store tomorrow at about 5:30 am, to wait for the truck with other people.
Shouldn't people already have this stuff from the previous two hurricanes?
