Clubbing and stuff
Jul. 13th, 2003 07:09 pmWow. That was a pretty bad thunderstorm just a moment ago... I guess Florida is getting back to its proper summer weather. Anyhow... I went to what apparently used to be and may be again Parthenon last Friday as part of Jen's birthday party, and had a pretty good time. There weren't a lot of people there, but the music was good, and pretty much everyone there was actually nicely decked out in goth/pvc/leather garb. Since the dance floor was almost exclusively filled by people from the party, it was pretty relaxing, and there wasn't too much change for my shyness to rise its head.
That being said, clubs are still too loud. Earplugs take care of the pain, but too often the music is seriously overdriven and gets so distorted it doesn't really sound good anymore. Also, I can't to the death of me hear anything anyone tries to tell me. Mostly this isn't a problem, but it puts a serious crimp on ever trying to pick anyone I don't already know up. Maybe I should take a deck of cue cards, like "You're cute!", "Love the shine!", "Your place or mine?", "Yeah, I'm a dork."
