Well, Finland isn't exactly Kenya, but in 1992 there was a big brouhaha about "Ruokolahden Leijona," a lion which several people supposedly had spotted in the wild somewhere near Ruokolahti. Of course it was never found, nor was there ever any real evidence such as droppings or pawprints (other than some forged ones), but for some reason it turned into the Finnish equivalent of the bigfoot hunt. A hunting permit was issued to a researcher to find and kill the beast, and in response a number of groups were formed to spare the poor feline from the hunter. In fact, it seems a company has sprung up to offer various levels of "safaris," some pictures here (http://www.ruokolahdenleijona.net/pic/photo/photo_3_b.jpg).
But really, I was thinking of this (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/kenya).
