It was pretty interesting. I actually chatted with a girl from the company that's selling/renting the boats and promoting the sport. Apparently it's the first time there's been a race in Tampa, but it looks pretty set that it will become an annual event, and several teams are forming. Also, there apparently are teams elsewhere in Florida, such as Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, that travel to competitions, and a lot of northerners interested in competing in Florida (imagine that ;-) ) The big red life vests seemed a little excessive, if safe, though. Pictorially it's better to have rows of sweating skin in the frame :-)
The rest of the fest was pretty small, but several pretty good food vendors were represented, and the dances were pretty nice. Unfortunately I missed most of them camera-wise, since I had to pick one place to be (or eat). Anyhow, hope you can catch it next year, and you'll feel better soon!
