  1. Candy. Yum. Fazer. Yumyum.
  2. Commander in Chief is actually a pretty good series. I wish it was out on DVD!
  3. The weather was gorgeous -- I tanned myself for five minutes (hope I didn't burn!) and read some of my novel outside in the yard. (I really should have washed my car, but we won't talk about that.)
  4. Sushi. Oh, yes. I spent way too much money on eating a some ikasansai, a dragon roll and a Corea Won roll. But it was good. Yum.
  5. Sushi waitress. She was a bit pretty and a bit cute, and still has a bit to learn about her trade, but she answered all of my ingredient questions without hesitation and did end up giving recommendations without too much humming and hawing, all the while actually looking at me and smiling. No, I've never worked as waitstaff, but I have strong opinions on what waitresses and waiters need to do to please me. I can eat at Taco Bell or Waffle House and enjoy it, but when I'm in a place that fancies itself to be, well, fancy, I start paying attention to detail.
  6. Books. I'm reading silly urban fantasy, or rather young adult male urban fantasy, what with fast cars and hot chicks and all. It's not a good book by any stretch of the imagination, and isn't going to win any literary awards. Yet, despite mediocre prose, predictable plot and aged scenes, I actually enjoy reading it. This is in contrast to beautifully bound, laid out and printed, critically acclaimed fantasy, which to me is like wading through a swamp. Maybe it makes me a simpleton, or maybe it just means that my author has, for all her lack in other areas, that something that makes for a good storyteller. That something that makes you want to know what happens next, even if you suspect you know, and even if you think that the heroic prince is way too silly to be real.
  7. I'm reading a book on globalization as well, and that also makes me feel good, because I think I understand many things better than the pulitzer-prize winning author of the book. Go ego!
  8. Running into the chef (cough) from China King, and him chatting with me at MD Oriental, where I went for chocolate.
  9. Chocolate. (Duh.)

Lemme know if you burned, because I'm going to kancho the hell out of you if you did.

Hey, get your mind out of the gutter. There's only room for one, here! ;-)

I left a big tip :-) I'm weird that way. Waitresses using their vile wiles on me often just annoy me, so I'm more inclined to like the waitress that's just nice and competent. Waiters just have to make do with being competent to impress me. Even at Disney ;-)
