Except that originalists and constitution in exile schools of thought have a simple answerto that. Both maintain that the constitution is not to be interpreted in light of the contemporary world, but is to be interpreted literally, as written. The CiE in particular also believes that pure free markets do work, and therein lies the knack. They oppose regulation, in particular federal regulation exactly because they believe that all of it is counter-productive in the end. They don't want to exploit people or destroy nature; they're convinced that a pure free market approach would be better in all aspects than today's rather convoluted and often counter-intuitive regime.
