Life Update
Oct. 25th, 2005 09:52 pmSaturday -- Jordan's game. It's fun to be a robotic cat, even if I didn't see that much action this time. But hey, the only thing better than a robotic cat is a robotic cat in space!
Sunday -- Mirrormask. I had suspected from the previews that this would be artsy, low-budget CG. Not at all; the movie was very impressive indeed, and visually something else entirely. Highly recommended! Liana, Emily, Kevin and Jordan were met by three of Kevins friends, all of whom seemed like nice folks. Also, more rollerskating. I kinda started to get the hang of skating backwards, something I had always failed to learn during those miserable, yet occasionally fun mandatory physical education classes of high school. I actually ended up driving back that night, with nary a sign of a hurricane. It hardly even rained all the way to Tampa -- but all tolls were lifted, which was pretty cool.
Monday -- Errands and lazing and stuff, studying. Found my Changeling book and reread the introduction. Changeling is a very cool game.
Tuesday -- Oil change, which turned into four new brake pads, oil change and rotation. At $260 I don't think it was that bad. The original set of pads lasted 70,000 miles. In particular I'm happy I was alerted to the condition of the brakes before we head into the Smokies. (I had them checked around 45,000 miles, at which point they were still "good for another 15,000 miles," then promptly forgot about the whole thing.) Unfortunately the somewhat sluggish sewers of the house have now reached the point of "not worky," so tomorrow is going to be interesting, before the plumber arrives.
