Sep. 11th, 2005 09:53 pmSpent the week trying to readjust to the normal routine. Knowing that I should be packing and getting ready to the move doesn't help, and having spent the past ten or so days in total flux, first with the move of my friend and then the awesome time at Dragoncon, it really feels like it's been ages since I left. This, mind you, is a good thing. Too often when I return from vacation I feel like it all went by in a flash, and I really didn't have much time off.
Anyhow, this weekend was one of about 600 more miles of driving. Quite worth it, I'd say.
moonwolf got to go to the Brodbingnagian Bard's concert, this being a house concert in Clearwater. I haven't actually been to a house concert before, despite Gloria's valiant attempts to keep everyone informed of them. Turns out that of the forty or so people in the house, Liana and myself were the only ones not know to the hosts, and outside of their SCA / ren faire social circles. Everyone was nice and friendly, and there was yummy food.
The concert went well, Liana got to spend time with
marcgunn, I bought another CD and on the way back we stopped at a Village in to chat and to eat a late dinner or early breakfast, depending on your viewpoint. The shift manager was a cool lady with a neat mandarin collar shirt and a painstakingly crafted pie face. So, Liana got a pie to bring to Jordan's game.
This game took pretty much all of Saturday. I'm slowly getting to grips with the rules and all, and having missed a bunch of sessions I kind of had a hard time catching up on just what had happened. Sleep deprivation didn't help either. But fun was had nonetheless, and the grub was outstanding, as always.
Sunday was much more peaceful. Took Liana for noodles, we made the vietnamese waiter happy with WoW stickers, and then we watched a couple of movies. For some odd reason Toys is apparently considered "controversial" by Blockbuster and can be found hardly anywhere. I will succeed one of these days, though!
Other than that, I was exposed to much new music, and the whole weekend was spent in a strange pookaish mood. That, and Liana's mom baked muffins and gave me one for the trip home! Yum!
(Males, unlike commonly deposited, have in fact two organs in which thought takes place. Belly is the usually neglected one.)
And now, five chapters of comparative economy! Yay!
