Writing Systems
Aug. 11th, 2005 10:54 pmWhile diddling with my new toy, which hopefully will give me aid and impetus in getting back into studying Japanese, I stumbled upon this site about writing systems. Drool. Now I remember why I wanted to get into linguistics.
On other news... Work has been busy but good. My cell phone died, so I'm back alternating between the Ericsson T39m which I like but which has a radio that keeps crapping out randomly, and the Nokia 3650 which is big, bulky and in a very anti-Nokia manner is an ergonomic nightmare. But at least it will run old Spectrum and Commodore 64 video games! I'm also trying to figure out what kind of new phone / plan to get--alas, the combination of a phone I want and a plan I want apparently can't be had from the same provider.
Also, Discovery channel is apparently showing episodes of Top Gear at random times of the night. I'll need to start setting my DVR to disk those. Although they don't have the cool racing girls anymore, it's still a profoundly British and enjoyable show. And they have some totally hilarious video clips available.
