Necronomicon pictures are finally up. Alas, there aren't many and they aren't that horribly noteworthy, since I missed most of the convention. Additional ones may get added as camera-shy people give okays to post stuff.
Apart from finally getting to these pictures the day was pleasant enough. I went to see Team America World Police, and didn't really like it. Spent most of the day working on my critical book review due Monday, and pretty much finished it. Now there's just a presentation left to do, and I hope to get that done tomorrow evening. It shouldn't be too tough, really, as it's just based on one chapter on one book.
Finally, I got a call from Darin. After all my gaming groups got dissolved I had assumed that the others had been doing stuff together, having been older friends, but apparently this wasn't the case. So, there was an impromptu get-together at his place, with no particular excuse. It was fun, really, in particular since some of the people I almost never see showed up.
Too much watching DVDs, though. I guess I'm old-fashioned; I want to talk to people! Anyhow, it was good to see everyone, and the only thing better than a drive that lets me listen to music too loud is a drive through a moonlit, twisty rural road while listening to music too loud!
It really is funny--I can't go to nightclubs or concerts without earplugs. I've tried it twice, and after getting my ears actually damaged both times gave up. I don't deal that well with overly loud music at house parties either. But when in the car, there's something very base and primal at cranking the stereo up to my comfort threshold, which in that particular situation is enough to drive anyone else deaf, keeping my hands on the wheel and going down the road. To each his own therapy, I guess :-)
