Well, I finally found the time in my schedule to go see a movie, and when faced with a choice between Van Helsing and Kill Bill II, I chose the latter. I rather liked the first one, despite it's excessive violence. For one, I like campy Asian action movies. Second, I like Lucy Liu.
The second movie is decidedly different from the first. There's a lot less outrageous action, and apart from a pretty disgusting gish-scene with Daryl Hannah, it really wasn't particularly gory either. Beyond that, I think it was more interesting stylistically, and as far as cinematography goes. The plot doesn't have much to it; it's just an excuse to string together all the visual scenes, and little girl-on-girl scenes. So, anyway, if you liked the first one, go see the second one. If you didn't, don't. If you didn't see the first one, you'd be advised to check it out on DVD before seeing this one, as it's really a continuation of it.
