Work's busy, but I find my attention being grabbed by one of those annoying problems... I want to make a picture CD of a friend's wedding, and none of the programs out there let me do what I want. So, of course, I go ahead and try to write my own. Alas, finding out the size of a jpeg image is surprisingly hard, and further made difficult by the fact that you can't get the official specifications of the file format. (Well, you can, but only for tons of money.) But it got me into this dogged mood, now, and I won't give up until I succeed. Too bad people expect me to do work while I'm consumed by a pet project.

Well, the day was hectic, but work was decent. Figured out how to get the jpeg header decoder to work, made lots of headway with the MeshNet engineer on allowing their gear on our network, and started a pretty network diagram for the other MeshNet engineers. Then my roommate dragged me to eat sushi, which ended up being a celebratory dinner because...
...though I've yet to receive the official acceptance letter, I'm taking the "Dear new Graduate Student, here is the information about the orientation session you need to attend" letter to mean that I'm officially accepted to the International Relations master's program! Yay! So, now instead of updating livejournals and all that nonsense I get to use the time that should go to sleeping to do homework and research and stuff. Of course Aikido three nights a week isn't helping a whole lot either...
