Well, about time to get some rest so I can be chipper and perky at work tomorrow. (Yeah, right.) A pretty productive day, though. Went to Lettuce Lake to shoot some ospreys. This time I took my 2X teleconverter, and discovered that it really doesn't do much good, as it's so blurry and contrast-killing that crops from the 1.4X are just as good if not better. No particularly decent shots, maybe I can get some online later. However, it was obvious that early morning is the time to do this, the light is perfect for the nesting family.

Still, I had a good time, sitting in the park for a few hours right after it opened and the day was still nice and cool, watching the osprey parents care for their two pretty close to full-grown kids, fish and chase away other birds that got too close.

Rented way too many movies, and got to watch such pearls as Queen of the Damned, Brotherhood of the Wolves (which I liked, especially since I could watch it in French with subtitles. The French voices were so much better...) and Ballistic, Ecks vs. Sever. The last one I picked up (surprise surprise) because of Lucy Liu. Any movie in addion to her would be pure bonus. It turned out to be a technically surprisingly good flick with lots of big explosions and guns and all, but with hardly any excuse of a plot or attempt by Ms. Liu or Mr. Banderas to act. Not a big surprise there. Still, a good way to spend the evening and rest the brain. I also found time to visit Amber and Donovan and wander around campus a bit, again with fairly slim photographic success. Lots of gamers around, though. One of these days I'll get the better of my shyness and actually approach these folks wandering around campus at evenings. Oh, and eat my ramen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yum yum.
