There are a number of martial-arts stereotypes, actually. The old chestnut that Aikidoka are non-confrontational Jedi hippie pansies, that the Brazilian Jujutsu guys are all mesomorph frog-men, that kung fu guys are squirrely mullets (and I'll have you know that I resembled that remark for awhile when I was in middle school.) All of which have elements which resemble the truth while missing it completely. The point being that what's most important in any study of martial arts is what feels most right for you. Sounds like you've found it all right.
