Northern Blood

I think I've acclimated to the subtropical climate of Florida pretty well, but there are still vestiges of northerner in me. The last few nights when the temperatures have dropped to chilly levels, I've opened my window and slept in a pleasant, under 15 Celsius (60 Fahrenheit) room. These have been the first times for a long time when I've actually slept solidly through the entire night. I guess I should be looking for an icebox I could convert to a bedroom...

Oh, man, I would DIE in your house! lol

That ends up being the most common contention with roommates. "76 is too hot!" "No, 76 is way chilly!"

I hear you, I keep my house at around 65 degrees most times and go out to my patio to smoke in a wife beater and bare feet most of the time. I'm pretty accustomed to a -20C Winter being from Vermont

Amusingly I do the same even though I haven't lived in a cold climate since I was 5. I left the fan on and opened the window on the cold nights and slept better than I had in a logn time. :)

We need more winter.

Ah, thermostat wars

I have not lived in Germany in decades, but have enjoyed the fabulous colder temperatures - even as it has made my brother and husband crazy. They keep wanting to turn the heat up to the 70's, but I like it better at under 65 in winter. Even with the thermostat set to 63 at night (and even that can dry out the sinuses), I've had to turn the fan on to get my feet cool enough to fall asleep...

Too bad there isn't any reasonable way to keep the bedroom that cool during other times in Florida :-(
