Anyway, I thought I was alone in a discovery similar to this- Maximum Ride by James Patterson done as a manga. The book was okay. I was roped in by the concept and some of the characters, which I thought had such potential. Not horrible, but not something I'd reread quickly.
The manga was a different experience entirely. Since the book was dialogue driven with brief descriptions, it lent well to a visual format and improved under it as well.
With your thoughts on Artemis Fowl at hand, I wonder how many other books get a mild upgrade across the adaptation divide.
