Another day, another entry

Wow. Got pummeled at work today. Still, it makes me feel productive, and satisfied that the day is over. Maybe I'll find some time to figure out better how LJ works, how to filter posts from communities listed as friends and so forth...

A friend (bard_bloom) pointed out ljmatch. I've actually always thought that personals are cool, though I'm not so convinced most (commercial) dating services work. I'm not sure why both have such a bad reputation in the US, though.
Putting a personal up in the local free youth-oriented rag in Finland was pretty common when I was in college there. Not to mention that the challenge to make your ad funny, stand out and appeal to the kind of people you wanted to meet was very good exercise in language use. Of course I'm too picky for my own good and not that skilled with any language... Then again, I'm single, so give it a try ;-)
